Shannon Delijani, mezzo-soprano, Roots of Reform Judaism Cantorial Soloist

We are thrilled to have Shannon Delijani featured for our High Holy Day services this year as one of our Cantorial Soloists-in-Residence! She is a wonderful singer from Los Angeles, now living in New York. She has recorded pieces by Debbie Friedman, Michael Isaacson, Louis Lewandowski, and many others.

More about Shannon:

Shannon Delijani is a mezzo soprano, filmmaker, and creative producer based in Los Angeles and a proud member of the Iranian Jewish Community. She holds a Bachelors in Music from the USC Thornton School of Music and a Masters in Music from Mannes at The New School College of Performing Arts in New York City. She has performed across the US with the Mannes Festival, Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and at Disney Concert Hall. Last summer she made her European debut as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito with the Trentino festival and as a fellow with Classic Lyric Arts France She is passionate about new opera and created the role of the Cantor in Thomas Morse’s Frau Schindler, which tells the story of Oskar Schindler’s wife Emilie.
